Greetings from Phillips Wisconsin, home of the Annual Czech-Slovak Festival & the Miss WI Czech Slovak Queen Pageant,
My name is Luanne Angelo and I am a former WI State Pageant Director. I have been involved with the WI pageant since my children were little. My youngest grew up going to the Festival as a baby (and she's now an adult!) I have two daughters that became WI State Queens and competed at the National Level. My daughter Acacia was even the 2nd Runner-Up at the Miss Czech-Slovak US Pagent, crowned in 2019. While I myself have no Czech or Slovak heritage, I have enjoyed helping my children learn more of their Slovakian heritage.
This is the time to start getting queen pageant candidates. We need your help if we are to keep the Pageant alive! As prior Queens and royalty, you are the best resource to talk about the pageant to other young ladies in your schools, families, workspaces and Ethnic clubs, etc. All of the information and the application are on this web site. Please talk to interested young ladies and encourage them to participate in our Pageant.
I am very proud of our pageant. We have a reputation as one of the best pageants in the USA. We are fortunate that the National US Czech Slovak Queen and/or one of the Runner-Ups traditionally comes to our pageant every year. It will continue to grow only with your help.
I look forward to hearing from each of you. I hope that you will be present at the festival this year. We are looking forward to celebrating the Queen Pageant this year. The pageant Committee hopes all of the prior queens and royalty will attend the celebration.
We are still trying to contact as many people as possible as we have lost contact with some of the prior royalty. If you can help please let me know. We hope that you will save that date to attend to help us celebrate over 25 years!
