WISCONSIN KOLACKY CONTEST
KOLACKY-KOLACHY-KOLACE-KOLACHE
No matter how you spell it, they are always good right out of the oven.

Without work, there are no koláce (Czech pastry).
Rules
-Any individual may enter the Wisconsin State Kolacky baking contest.
-All entries must be baked and delivered to the Phillips High School between 9:00 am to 10:15 on Saturday festival weekend
-One entry form must be filled out for each category entered
-Six kolacky of the same flavored must be provided for judging, except for category #4
-Decision of the judges are final and are based on the criteria listed below each category
-Winners and prizes will be announced on Sunday festival weekend
-Kolacky not used may be used in other festival activities
-The winner of the previous year may not enter the same category for the current year
CATEGORIES OF KOLACKY TO BE JUDGED
1. Category One: Traditional Kolacky: Must be made of poppy seed, prune, or cottage cheese.
--Judging Criteria: Looks, smell, taste, and texture
2. Category Two: Modern Kolacky: Made with any type of filling other than what is made in the traditional
category.
--Judging Criteria: Looks, smell, taste, and texture
3. Category Three: Pastries Type Kolacky
--Judging Criteria: Looks, smell, taste, and texture
4. Category Four: Largest Kolacky
--Judging Criteria: Size, appearance, shape, weight, taste, and color (Scientific approach used)
5. Category Five: Youth Entries
--Judging Criteria: Looks, smell, taste, and texture
6. Category Six: Eating Contest
--Judging Criteria: Based on age. The older you are the more you have to eat and then whistle. I am sure it will be fun
